Anne Larlee

Opera Workshop, Vocal Techniques Workshop

A native of Campbellton, New Brunswick (Canada) pianist Anne Larlee is a repetiteur and coach with Oper Frankfurt. She completed her training in the UK as part of the prestigious Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She also holds degrees and diplomas in piano performance from Boston University, the Conservatoire National de Région de Nice, France and the University of Windsor, where she was the recipient of the Board of Governors’ Medal in Music. She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation.

Anne has appeared on stages across Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, including London’s Wigmore Hall and La Maison de la Radio in Paris. Anne is in great demand as a collaborative recital partner and recently completed a cross-Canada recital tour in honour of Maureen Forrester with Simone Osborne and Dominique Côté organized by Les Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. She was part of the coaching faculty of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and the Universität der Künste Berlin. She has worked with many acclaimed singers, including Wendy Nielsen, Adrianne Pieczonka, Alice Coote, Isabel Bayrakdarian, Brett Polegato, Dame Felicity Lott, Elza van den Heever, Ramón Vargas, Paul Appleby and Sir Thomas Allen.

Joseph So recently said of Anne in La Scena Musicale: She has really become one of the best young collaborative pianists of our time, showing impressive stylistic range and striking the right balance between complete support of the vocalist yet allowing her own pianistic personality to shine through.

Beyond her five full seasons and regular guest work with the Canadian Opera Company and two seasons with the Komische Oper Berlin, her operatic credits also include work with the Centre for Opera Studies in Sulmona, Italy, the British Youth Opera, the Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Aldeburgh Music, Calgary Opera and Opera Theatre of St Louis.
